Establishing and agreeing with management, and meeting objectives that cover the administration of the Parts, Bodyshop and Service Departments operating policies and standards to achieve both high levels of customer satisfaction and profitability. To control stocks and assets at a level commensurate with profit requirements and enhanced customer relations. To maximise departmental profitability through the sale of labour, parts and materials.

Job Description
To maintain effective control of expenses in line with budget objectives by monthly examination of management accounts to ensure total expenditure for the After Sales Departments does not exceed budgeted overhead figures.
In conjunction with the achievement of labour efficiency targets, maintain workshop and bodyshop productivity records to monitor the effective use of labour. Lost time should be measured and reported. These results will be used for reporting future total productive labor costs lost.
To ensure all invoices are submitted to customers, including insurance companies on collection of vehicles or parts.
Establish and monitor all training requirements and costs to provide satisfactory levels of skill, job satisfaction and cost-effective development of key After Sales Personnel.
Interview, select, hire and train After Sales staff subject to authority delegated to line managers.
In consultation with training personnel and human resources, establish training needs, plan programme and maintain records of training. Ensure up-to-date and accurate documentation to be reported at management meetings for approval.
Monthly tools and equipment audit to be conducted and variance reported to GM on a month basis, e.g. stolen or damaged tools, faulty equipment, etc. and to include adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Department
Administer warranty policy in the best interests of dealership, manufacturer and customer. A warranty store to be established and managed according to OEM requirements.
Implement new vehicle preparation and used vehicle reconditioning according to company policy.
Plan, initiate and promote After Sales campaigns as and when required in order to achieve aftersales budgets.
To ensure customer retention of new vehicle buyers and existing customers, aftersales manager must initiate a customer follow up system together with services advisers to regularly call customers to bring them back for servicing.
Review all pricing policies, labour rates, fleet discounts, parts pricing and all other company policies on a regular basis.
Ensure all debtors accounts have account opening forms which have been properly completed. Report on all creditors which are out of current and provide an action plan for recovery of the same.
Ensure a system of deposits is in place and working correctly for back orders and high value jobs.
