The Manager of Collateral and Securities will be in charge of researching, drafting and vetting both standardised and non-standardised collateral documents within delegated authorities for all Business units, in such a way as to assure the bank of legal protection against credit risk. The successful candidate will also manage the operational aspects of collateral management as well as lead and manage the collateral team including recruitment, performance management and staff Development.

Job Description
Recommend drawdown of facilities once satisfied that all terms and conditions of sanction/covenants have been met and all required collateral have been obtained and are in legal order
Perfection of / follow up on security on advances per approvals
Ensure all security documentation and collateral are in place
Ensure accuracy of all prepared collateral documents inclusive of bank guarantees
Ensure adherence to SLA on preparation and vetting of legal documents
Manage the operational aspects of collateral management: including maintaining diary systems for monitoring and updating variable collateral and ensuring that commission for guarantees are recovered timeously.
Monitor and control risk triggers and identify irregular collateral for Watch List purposes. Take necessary action to ensure that the Bank is not faced with avoidable losses.
Maintain a high standard of interaction and correspondence with internal, external/ international legal entities for input regarding high level contracts, unprecedented risks, changes in law, and registering collateral.
Provide leadership to staff in terms of recruitment, performance management, development and discipline
Compliance with policies, procedures and regulations
Ensure closure of all audit and regulatory issues
Responsible for informative reporting and supporting administration on number of accounts with unenforceable security/collateral, etc
Perform any other duties assigned by the management.
